This years remembrance weekend was extra special due to the 100 year celebrations since the formation of The Royal Air Force and also marking 100 years since the end of World War 1.

We held our annual concert of remembrance on Friday the 9th November with all proceeds going to The Royal British Legion. It was a great turnout as always, we had standards present from all the services and our own representative from Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue also carrying a standard. The highlight of this evening to many was the piece called In Flanders Fields, during this piece the poem of the same name was read out by our chairman Terry and was very emotional, if you are on facebook look for the bands page and you can watch the video. Once we have a final count of our takings we will publish it on here.

The band was out again Saturday morning taking part in the regular service at Lincoln Cenotaph where a record breaking 50 wreaths were laid, the weather was kind and the music played was very touching for the occasion.

On the Sunday morning some of the band assisted Army Cadet Bands in The Sunday morning parade around the cathedral and castle then onto Sobraon Barracks for a small remembrance service at their own memorial in Sobraon Park.
