Over the bank holiday weekend we provided entertainment during the Asylum Steampunk Festival held in and around the Castle. The festival is the largest and longest running steampunk festival in the world and is the first time we have been involved with it. We were placed inside the castle grounds and played for an hour in the glorious sunshine. The event is extremely well attended and we were look after very well by the organisers, this is something we hope to be part of again in the future.

On Saturday we had the pleasure of attending Terry Coffey’s 80th Birthday Party and performing a concert for all his family and friends. Terry provided a lovely lunch for us at the Assembly Rooms, Lincoln and at the end of the meal the band put on a concert which was enjoyed by all his guests. Terry performed a solo called Waltz No2 on his Baritone Saxophone and his Grandson joined the cornets and trumpets to play Buglers Holiday, a well known piece that really gets the cornets and trumpets working hard! On Friday 30th June the band finished a busy week with providing a marching display and mini concert at Hemswell Court for The Army Benevolent Fund The Soldiers Charity Summer Reception and Dinner. The band marched into the grounds where the guests were all arriving and enjoying a champagne reception, we formed up and provided traditional music followed by the national anthem with the lowering of the union jack flag. Lincolnshire Show 2017

Yesterday we performed our marching display at the 133rd Lincolnshire Show for the 2nd year running, last year was the first time the band had ever marched and we were very proud to attend the show again this year. The band has been very busy attending extra rehearsals on Sunday mornings leading up to the event and all that hard work really paid off. We marched onto the main arena 4 times during the day for a performance and also provided music around the food and beer tents, we only got wet once! On Sunday the 7th May we held our Spring Concert at The Pride of Lincoln which was focussed on a best of British theme. The band opened the concert to a wonderful piece of music called Prismatic Light by Alan Fernie which we have been rehearsing hard on for the past few weeks. Alzheimers Society Charity Concert

On Friday night we held our first concert of the year at The Recital Hall, Lincoln Minster School. The band has been busy rehearsing a new programme over the past few months and the band played very well indeed, all the proceeds raised will go to the Azheimers society. Our next concert is Sunday 7th May, 2pm at the Pride of Lincoln which will be a Best of British Theme. It’s free entry with retiring collection, refreshments will ne available and the Bar will be open.
