Our Band is based in the historic city of Lincoln and has been formed since June 2009 (previously known as Lincolnshire Concert Band). We are currently under the direction of musical conductor Brian Newland. The Band performs for numerous events throughout the year, ranging from local village fetes to our own, well established, annual Concert of Remembrance in November from which all proceeds go to the poppy appeal . We also hold our own concerts at which anybody is welcome to attend free of charge, kind donations made at such concerts allow us to continue to be able to do this.
This band was formed during 2009 by the integration of the well established “Lincolnshire Concert Band” with Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue – hence the new name “Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Concert Band”
Many Fire and Rescue units are associated with band music, and in particular parts of the country the association would be with brass or silver bands. Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue for many years was indeed associated with a brass band, until that band ceased to exist – and the concept of the well established Lincolnshire Concert Band becoming associated with Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue was born.
The Band has a very large selection of music to choose from, with a library containing just over 600 pieces of music. We like to have a mixture of music in the pads all the time ranging from classical to pop; Disney to film music and of course a full range of Proms music and Marches, including the Bands very own Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue March. If you wish to request a particular piece of music before a Concert you are planning to attend, please contact us.
